PAC lunch offers a wide range of hot and cold food, freshly prepared on the premises by our in-house catering team. Following our Healthy eating policy the menus are designed by our Chef is a main priority providing healthy eating options at lunchtime and has its own team who supervise the daily menus that change weekly. The school complies with the national School Food Standards, ensuring that food is healthy whilst still meeting the dietary requirements of all students. Lunch service includes a hot service, compromising of a dish of the day, grab and go meals, jacket potatoes and pasta with sauce. These can be purchased separately or mixed with the homebake and a drink for a meal deal. The cold service consists of Paninis, sandwiches pasta salads and a small selection of deli sandwiches. At Prestwich Arts College Cashless Catering is operated using a fingerprint system with a daily spend limit of £6.00, which can be adjusted on request. (Parents may choose to opt their child out of the fingerprint system and still use the cashless catering service). Students can add cash at the machines located in the school canteen area and cheques can be deposited through the finance office. Parents can request a breakdown of their child’s purchases and balances by contacting school. The system also provides the catering team with information that may affect the food sold to students due to allergies or illnesses.
Parents must apply for free school meals through their Local Authority – further information can be found here (link to FSM information document.). Each day the cashless system will credit the student with the cost of a free school meal; any balance will be debited at the end of the day and will not be carried forward. Students can top-up to purchase items from the Early Bird or Break Service.
